As the days begin to go by, I'm slowly starting to see less of "New Year" decor and in comes the Red hearts, Chocolates and gigantic fluffy teddy bears. I don't think I'm ready for Valentine's. For one I'm still stuck in "New Years" rut and the hubby is currently deployed.
The only exciting thing about Valentines this year we get to make my husband a "Very Valentine's" care package, oh and Valentine's treat for my son's 2nd grade class.
Last year we made these cute paper plate heart favors filled with goodies. It was a big hit. I don't go all out for this holiday, usually one or two things there and there, but what I do enjoy having around the house, garlands. I adore garlands, paper, felt, fabric, you name it.
This year I decided to make a fun and easy paper heart garland, this would be great for any home, or girls room, or give it as a gift, I know I'm making one for my son's teacher. Something nice for her class room.
Items needed for this Project
- Red, Pink and White Card Stock
- Twine
- Circut Scraper
- Grip mat
Re size image to 2x2" add two small dots measure .11"
Cut 12 of each color, total of 36 hearts, you might have a few extra pieces left over. That's fine you can always use them for something else.
Remember you can make as many as you want I made 36 hearts to fit the length of my twine.
HEARTS!!!
Once all the hearts are cut and removed from the mat, organize into colors. Start stringing, I started with three reds, three pink and then white, you can always arrange as you choose.
A little tip to make stringing easier, add masking tape to the tip of the twine, it will stop the twine from fraying and it will go much faster.
Once done, hang and enjoy.
